Risk & user votes

Calculated automation risk

0.0% (Minimal Risk)

Minimal Risk (0-20%): This occupation appears difficult to replace end-to-end with current or near-future automation, including AI software and robotics. Roles in this range usually depend on human judgement, creativity, care, leadership, specialist expertise, or adapting to messy real-world situations. AI and machines may still change parts of the work, but the occupation is likely to remain a distinct human role.

Paramedics need that human involvement to reassure patients in dire situations.. i doubt a computer or AGI could reflect that same empathy and genuine care paramedics show their patients on a daily basis.

not easy to be a paramedic even for a human - very complex and any odd computer hallucinations wont be acceptable.

The interpersonal acumen necessary is as of now, impossible to automate.

The dynamic settings faced are not at all predictable either.

I hope we work in conjuction with diagnostic AI systems to improve delivery of care, but I am not concerned about being replaced in the near future.

Diseases and health emergencies present in unique ways, even within a standard disease. People are litigious, and often treatments rely on "judgment calls".

The work environment can also be incredibly hostile.

Robots can't birth babies, administer meds, do cpr, do anything without the use of humans so robots would just get in the way but some robots like LUCAS I think it's called helps a bit for the medics to focus on other things
